Natural Healing with PRP

What is prp?

What is the treatment process?

What is the treatment process?

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) consists of two elements: plasma, which is the liquid portion of blood, and platelets, a type of blood cell that plays an important role in healing throughout the body. Platelets are well-known for their clotting abilities, but they also contain growth factors that can trigger cell reproduction and stimulate tissue regeneration or healing in the treated area. Platelet-rich plasma is simply blood that contains more platelets than normal.

The procedure involves taking the patient’s blood and concentrating the levels of platelets and growth factors to promote healing in injured tissue. Blood is drawn from a vein in the arm and is subjected to a Separation process to obtain the concentrated platelets. The solution is then injected into the affected region.

What is it used for?

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections are gaining popularity for a variety of conditions, from sports injuries to hair loss. The treatment uses a patient’s own blood cells to accelerate healing in a specific area.

  • PRP treatment can help support wound healing in trauma and joint injury. The technique can also address male and female hair loss and thinning.  It stimulates the growth of hair transplants  and resolve plantar warts and verruca’s. New research is under way for many other conditions.
  • The results of PRP treatment are most noticeable from 1-4 weeks for joint injections and up to six months for the full effect of scalp injections; patients may require additional injections. The results of the treatment for Warts can be seen 1-6 weeks.
  • Because the treatments use a patient’s own blood, PRP injections are safe and can be administered alone or used in conjunction with other procedures.
